Nissan Rogue VIN decoder

Nissan Rogue and Rogue Sport are separate model lines with separate manuals and equipment references. Select Rogue plus the exact year in Nissan’s owner portal, then compare the VIN and door certification label with the vehicle.

Decode a Nissan Rogue VIN

See the factory fields this VIN encodes, then review manufacturer recall notices matched by year, make, and model.

Where to check the VIN

  • The Rogue owner manual places the FMVSS/CMVSS certification label on the driver-side door jamb or pillar; compare it with the visible dashboard VIN.
  • Do not use the Rogue Sport under-hood chassis-number diagram for a Rogue; Nissan publishes a separate manual for that model.

Typical encoded fields

Public decode coverage varies by VIN and model year. Factory VIN leaves missing fields blank rather than guessing.

  • vPIC may return Rogue body, engine, fuel, transmission, drive, plant, and restraint fields where supplied.
  • A Rogue model result does not resolve Rogue versus Rogue Sport, hybrid versus non-hybrid, AWD, or trim without the correct year/model documentation.

Trim, options, and other limits

  • Nissan model selectors and owner manuals are year-specific; a Rogue Sport result or guide is not interchangeable with Rogue.
  • Do not infer hybrid operation, AWD performance, or package content from a model-family name or a single decoded field.
  • vPIC data is manufacturer supplied; a blank field is not proof that the vehicle lacks the feature.
  • A decode does not establish accident, title, lien, ownership, theft, service, odometer, current condition, or exact-VIN recall history.

Recall campaigns

A recall campaign is a manufacturer recall notice that may cover a group of vehicles.
